QA Engineer

This project is part of the business investment banking and financial services area, that currently has its technological hub in Portugal and is working on the development of innovative solutions and support for all operations related to the business.

We are looking for an QA Engineer to work in this project in Porto (Hybrid).

What are we looking for?

• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, preferably within FinTech, Investment Banking, or Electronic Trading environments.
  
• Solid understanding of financial markets, particularly Fixed Income or Derivatives, and their trading lifecycles.
  
• Experience designing, writing, and executing test plans and test cases, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  
• Knowledge of trading protocols, particularly FIX (Financial Information Exchange), and XML.
  
• Experience testing APIs, market data feeds, and backend services.
  
• Familiarity with log analysis tools, Linux environments, and basic shell scripting.
  
• Basic understanding of algorithms.
  
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  
• Knowledge of test automation using Python or C# is a plus.
  
• Familiarity with testing tools and automation frameworks is valued.
  
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  
• Fluent English (written and spoken); French is a plus.

What will be your responsibilities?

•  Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Electronic Trading applications.
  
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and non-functional testing.
  
• Validate trading workflows, market data feeds, and API integrations using protocols such as FIX and XML.
  
• Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure their resolution.
  
• Perform latency, stress, and load testing to assess system performance under high-volume trading conditions.
  
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  
• Explore and contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks covering APIs, user interfaces, and backend services.
