Cobol Developer (French Speaker)

This project is part of the business investment banking and financial services area, and currently has its technological hub in Porto and is working on the development of innovative solutions and support for all operations related to the business.

We are looking for a Cobol Developer (French Speaker) to work in project in Porto (Hybrid) or Lisbon (Hybrid).

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS;
• Strong understanding of IBM mainframe environments (z/OS);
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose solutions;
• Experience with maintenance of large-scale enterprise applications;
• Good communication skills and ability to work in structured environments;
• High level of reliability, organization, and attention to detail;
• French (level C1) and English language are required.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop, update, and maintain COBOL programs on IBM mainframe systems;
• Work on batch and online applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS;
• Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and provide reliable fixes;
• Participate in functional and technical upgrades of existing systems;
• Write technical documentation and perform system testing;
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and production teams;
• Ensure stability, performance, and reliability of critical applications;
• Follow company standards and ensure high data accuracy.
