Data Engineer

This project is part of the business investment banking and financial services area, and currently has its technological hub in Porto and is working on the development of innovative solutions and support for all operations related to the business.

We are looking for a Data Engineer to work in this project in Porto (Hybrid).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field;
  
• Between 6 and 9 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role;
• Significant professional experience in the Big Data domain, with in-depth expertise in the Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and PySpark ecosystem;
• Excellent command of the Java programming language, with advanced development and maintenance skills;
• Strong Scala or PySpark development skills, with experience in rewriting Java components in Scala or PySpark;
  
• Good knowledge of data engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, and Big Data architecture principles;
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  
• Knowledge of cloud provider ecosystems is a plus: AZURE, AWS, GCP;
  
• Experience with Data manipulation/Modeling/SQL;
  
• Programming skills in Java & Spring, Scala, Spark, Pyspark, Python, Maven;
  
• Good understanding of Big Data Environment: Hadoop, HDFS, HIVE, HBASE, CDP, Ambari, Ranger, Kerberos, etc.;
  
• Good understanding of DevOps: Git, Jenkins, XLdeploy, XL release;
  
• First experience with GCP/Big Query;
  
• Good level of English Language.
