MariaDB Database Administrator (Remote)
We are looking for a MariaDB Database Administrator to work in this project in Porto (remote).
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor ClickHouse database clusters and MariaDB database systems;
- Work with development teams to design, implement and maintain databases that meet end-user requirements, and regularly review and improve database design;
- Investigate database performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions;
- Maintain system reliability and stability while ensuring cost-effective, efficient use of resources;
- Contribute to team process improvements in line with industry best practices;
- Take part in team knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements:
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience;
- Proven experience administering MariaDB database systems;
- Previous experience with Big Data systems such as Hadoop, Impala or ClickHouse is a strong plus;
- Experience diagnosing, analyzing and resolving operational problems, and analyzing and fine-tuning database performance;
- Knowledge of data partitioning and sharding;
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and related management tools such as JIRA and Confluence;
- Exposure to programming languages such as PHP, Python and Go is desirable;
- Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills.
