Senior Data Engineer

Here you’ll contact with the European stock market area and will be able to work in a project for a leading global trading platform that knows the importance of surveillance issues and provides technology and managed services to third parties. You’ll also be able to experience a multicultural environment with a strong people culture, being on a team that is spread across several European countries, such as Denmark, Italy, Norway and Portugal.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work in this project in Porto (Hybrid).

What are we looking for?

• At least 7 years of data engineering experience, including at least 3 years building real-time or streaming systems in production;
• Solid AWS experience with services such as MSK, Kinesis, Managed Service for Apache Flink, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3 and IAM;
• Hands-on production experience with Apache Flink using Java, Scala or Python/PyFlink;
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures and schema management, including Avro and schema registries;
• Proven experience designing and building APIs and microservices with REST and OpenAPI in Java or Python;
• Knowledge of CI/CD for data and services, using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar, and automated testing practices;
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills for streaming and batch data;
• Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry or Prometheus/Grafana, and operating services against SLAs;
• Understanding of data services security, including authentication and authorisation with OAuth2/OIDC, encryption and least-privilege access;
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to lead technical discussions with engineering and business stakeholders;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ownership mindset.
