Privacy Counsel

In this project you’ll contact with the European stock market area and will be able to work for a leading global trading platform that knows the importance of surveillance issues. Despite its development center being located in Porto and all administrative support in Lisbon, you will be part of a multicultural team that is spread across several European cities.

We are looking for a Privacy Counsel to work in a project in Porto (hybrid).

Profile:  

• 4–7 years of relevant professional experience in data protection and privacy, gained in-house, in a law firm or consultancy, with a Law degree and EU legal qualification/admission strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of the GDPR and national data protection laws in at least one Euronext jurisdiction.
• Solid experience with privacy advisory, DPIAs, privacy governance, data protection contracts and international data transfers, including DPAs and SCCs.
• Experience in financial services, market infrastructure or another regulated environment is a strong advantage.
• Excellent English, written and spoken, with strong drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills; French, Dutch, Italian or Portuguese is a plus. 

Responsabilities 

• Provide pragmatic legal advice on GDPR and local privacy requirements, monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on Euronext’s activities.
• Maintain and strengthen privacy governance and compliance, including RoPAs, policies, procedures, privacy notices, DPIAs and legitimate interest assessments.
• Provide privacy guidance across new projects, digital transformation, AI and data-driven initiatives, embedding privacy by design and by default.
• Draft, review and negotiate DPAs, data-sharing agreements and international transfer arrangements, including SCCs and transfer impact assessments, while supporting third-party privacy due diligence.
• Manage and support data subject rights requests, personal data breaches and regulatory interactions, as well as privacy training, awareness initiatives and reporting to senior
